There are some moments in our lives when we just barely manage to save ourselves from utter embarrassment. This act of “saving ourselves” is mostly due to a gut feeling of something not being right. This gut feeling indeed saves us from being embarrassed in the most awkward places we can imagine of. The same happened with me when I was due to present my final project presentation for my graduation degree. I was all prepared and set to impress all with the formal black suit I had dry cleaned for this occasion. It was early morning of that fateful day and I was checking everything just to be sure that everything was okay. When I started to check the coat I was about to wear, I saw that the coat was slightly torn from the inside. I almost fainted with fear because although it was torn from the inside, the torn part hung loose enough to be visible to everyone. Time was running short and I had to do something about it. I immediately went to my friend’s mother who repaired the torned part somehow with her Project Runway sewing machine. I still shrug with fear when I think what would have happened had I not seen the piece hanging.
